There's a great big world of skiing out there! Reportedly Iran's best ski resort, Dizin is just a couple hours from Tehran and receives a New Mexico-like mix of sun and snow. Two old gondolas and several other lifts serve a vertical drop of 3000' with a top elevation over 11,000'. Lift tickets run in the neighborhood of $7 per day. The volcanic peak in the distance is called Damavand, the highest mountain in Iran at 18,600'.
