I know there have already been demo days in the Mid-A in December. Thought it would be good to note demo days scheduled for Jan-Feb. The ones I know about are sponsored by a ski shop, as opposed to a demo day where there are separate tents by brand reps.
* Jan. 3: Whitetail, Ski Center of DC; $35 lift ticket at store
* Jan. 11-12: Massanutten, Freestyle of Charlottesville
* Jan. 18: Wintergreen, Freestyle of Charlottesville
* Feb. 15-16: Wintergreen, Freestyle of Charlottesville
Is there going to be anything at Snowshoe?
The Freestyle demo days on Jan. 11-12 at Massanutten will include plenty of choices for women's skis in the 150-166 length range. Found out that there will be Wild Bells, Temptation 82, Temptation 88, Savory 7, Superific, Superglide, and Lunas . . . in my length range. Tall women and men will have choices in unisex and men's skis from Nordica, Rossi, K2, Scott, Head, and Volkl. The Volkl RTM81, RTM84 will be there.
Camelback has a Demo Day on 1/24 by Buckman's. Apparently the brands included last year were Line, Volkl, K2, Atomic, Rossi, and Salomon.
Hopefully the rain will hold off until late afternoon on Sat for the free demo day on Jan. 12 at Massanutten. Sun should be a decent day. There is plenty of base after the last few weeks of cold snowmaking weather, so temps in the low 50’s won’t be a problem. Everything is open as of Jan. 8. Here is the list of skis that Freestyle plans to bring to the Massanutten Demo Days Jan. 11-12., 9:00-3:00.
Had a good time checking out skis at Mnut. Apparently the selection at Wintergreen on Jan. 18 and Feb. 15-16 will be even better because they have skis at the shop there too. Can only carry so many in the van because of weight restrictions. I think I heard there will be 40 pairs available. Will be set up at the top of Eagle Swoop over on the Acorn area.
Had fun at the demo days by Freestyle at Massanutten. They will have more skis at Wintergreen. Limited by weight on how many they can put in the van. I think Don said 40 pairs. The selection for women my size was quite good. I confirmed that I like Rossi skis. Volkl . . . not so much.
