So, Snowshoe, you've begun snowmaking.  

That's great, I'm psyched (and reminded that my skis need some attention).  But you're not planning to open for a month.  The snow you've made is likely to melt, isn't it?  Why do it now?  Publicity only, or might you, might you, just might you open earlier?

Impatient skiers want to know.

Wow, open before the published open date? It does seem strange to be making snow so early, and why not push the expected opening date up if they are expecting to open earlier than Nov 27? Too many questions.

Why do they do this? Does turning on the snowguns after a late october snowfall really boost early season sales?

Seems like much more snowmaking than needed to check the system and blow out the mice.

Any official (or unofficial) word from Snowshoe mgt about the October snow job?

The word we are getting from Mountain Lodge is Wed Nov 27.
