Well, that was weird.

You guys are just imagining things.

JohnL went down same weekend as DCSki. Must be something going around the IT world.

Looks like several features are still malfunctioning. Maybe we should start a list to help Scott?
-Article photos missing
-Recent Topics show old forum posts
Article photos are missing since last summer. That will be challenging to overcome -- it'll take some time to recover them.
The Recent Topics might update on their own -- I'll keep an eye on that.
This server crash was not fun, and the server is limping along -- it's running on a secondary drive but I'm not sure what state that is in. Hopefully it will make it through the end of the ski season.
I think the Recent Topics is updating correctly now. Please let me know if you discover other issues. I've recovered article photos through November 12, 2012. Unfortunately, unless I can recover data from the crashed drive, anything past that will require a tedious process (basically editing and re-posting photos to each article one by one.) Sigh!
Scott, let us know if we can help. I feel your pain, but I'm sure to a much lesser degree. My life story in ski photos over the last ten years is up in the clouds.

Correction, the photos are in the old articles as you stated above. Only last few months missing.
I don't recall you ever having this serious a disruption since I began following the site in 1999.
Mercury retrograde. (Feb 23 - Mar 17) If you believe in astrology......
"What happens when Mercury retrogrades? You miss appointments, your computer equipment crashes, checks get lost, you find the car you just purchased during Mercury retrograde is a lemon. (Or, you hate your haircut, the lamp you bought shorts out, your sister hates her birthday gift.) There will be countless delays, cancellations and postponements--but know these will benefit you in the long run. Don't fight them, although your frustration level and feeling of restlessness will be hard to cope with at times.
All machinery and things with moving parts--such as computers, VCRs, camera equipment, garbage disposals, and so forth, will reveal any weak links now. It is critical that you back up your data system and be more careful and vigilant than ever. Projects will demand more time and money than anticipated this month."
I believe all article photos that were lost in the recent DCSki server hard drive crash have now been recovered. If anyone notices any missing images, let me know.
