I can not recall. Does anyone remember how busy say 7Springs or Hidden Valley is the week after the Holidays? I usually have an event planned that was cancelled and it's been some time since I've been out the weekend after to know.

I would think everyone is 'skied out' and tapped out but, I could be wrong!

in case anyone was wondering, we went today (Saturday) and YES! - it was BUSY.

I took two 'newer' skiers and it was quite hell. Fall on the steep part of a green, ended in me worrying for our lives as 10-15 teens-20somethings cruised inches apart at 50+mph past us...many out of control, crashing all over. My daugher was almost run into 5 times. God forbid she traverse from side to side a blue, it was like playing frogger - watching for that PERFECT moment to make it across.

no ski patrol keeping this dangerous situation down. I repeat what I posted in another thread. 7Springs is going to kill someone.

The culture at 7Springs is to go balls out in heavily congested areas past people that are obviously going much slower and learning. There is no safe place on the weekends at 7Springs.

50+ MPH on a green trail? Holy Cow!

Must take a Yinzer in a Steelers jacket to accomplish that...

Wow, Blue Knob today was perfect... Not too crowded, not icy and about 70% open. First trip there and love the place. Its like Timberline without the crowds... is that normal??

there were quite a few in steelers jackets, straight 80's skis and ski totes. Like it was their first outting in 20 years.

This one slope in particular is the one over on the north summit, there is a part where it goes down to a steepness equal to a typical blue, and is quite narrow. You can enter the glades on this portion. There were 15-20 people in several groups riding shoulder to shoulder with each other riding as fast as they could with a daredevil look in their eyes wisking past little kids and adult beginners alike going at least 40 mph, and upwards of 50+. I know speed pretty well, and due to the conditions, it was quite possible. I reach 35mph with very little effort on a board, and could easily hit 45 on that trail if I was a fool and didnt care about anyone.

I think the reason why they do this on this trail area is, that there is a nice runout at the bottom where you can split off to the winding trail that is east most or continue down to a more advance run.

Timberline has crowds? I've hit some pretty decent lift lines at Blue Knob. This past weekend was a slow weekend, so glad you hit it.

Not icy.
Very rare for Blue Knob. (And I do love the place.)

My personal take, Blue Knob has the more challenging trails, but Timberline has better tree skiing. Both are rocking little areas.
