The condition of the trails that is. Yesterday I Mtn biked, today I walked. The trails are as dry and hard as brick, even in the places that are normally mud holes in early spring. I believe the word is DROUGHT, although I have yet to hear it spoken in this strange year.

Yeah, we rode a few nights ago and the trails were similar to fresh asphalt. And I mean fresh, none of that rough stuff with potholes...

Yeah, we need some rain big time. Tried working some soil this past weekend; ground is rock hard. I'm actually doing some watering, which I rarely do in May, much less early April.

At least the grass is still green (but I've got a few patches that are starting to show some stress.) End of August is pretty ugly for greenery in the DC area; kinda like a frat house on Sunday AM.

But anecdotally, water table may not be too bad given the very wet fall (but DC area relies on river flow and reservoirs for drinking water.) Talked to a gentleman farmer this past weekend who had a bear of a timing burying a dead horse since the ground water was filling in the grave faster than they could dig.

Oh man, that sounds like a lot less fun than skiing.
