Snowshoe VRBO - no one wants to rent?

I'm looking to stay solo ONE night at snowshoe this coming Tuesday.
I email about 5 people asking them to rent me their place that day, no takers on VRBO. I look again, their places are all blank, no one staying there. I know one night isn't really worth it to them but geesh, one night is still a couple bucks they wouldn't otherwise have!
The only thing I can find to book is a $180/night at the inn 'deal' I can get a slopeside door to slopes place for $150 (if they would answer me back or if I was picking multiple nights IM sure)
