Had more xrays taken today of my right wrist/hand that still was a bit puffy and hurt despite it being over two weeks since I slipped in the road at Timberline. Oops, radiologist said I had an acute triquetral fracture in my wrist/hand area. Anyway, will see orthopedist tomorrow and find out my fate for the remainder of the season.
Wish me luck!

Sounds like you were lucky, it could be worse.

Old fighter pilot once told me he would rather be lucky than be good.

Wow. You went on to log how many additional ski days with that bum wrist?? Keep us informed about your availability for Snowy Luau, assuming T-Line still has snow on Mar 17 (Irish Luau!).

Happy to hear that it is not a Ski preventing break. Take care and heal well.

I saw the orthopedic dr. and he said that my hand/wrist fracture was the result of my fall and a tendon/ligament that attached to the triquetral bone pulling a small piece of bone from the main small bone. Said that nothing was required at this time, should heal itself over the next three-four weeks. Told me I could use a splint or not, depending how it felt. AND...I could ski but should wear the brace, as I have already been doing since the injury.
I had hoped to ski with some of the Wounded Warriors this weekend, but think I will let the injury rest and resume skiing sometime next week or so. I definitely plan on attending "Snowy Luau".

Morgan,

Wear a brace at night when you sleep.

Been a tough year for DCSkiers.
