I'm no expert on airfares so you guys may beat this, but Delta has some pretty good rates right now for flights out of DCA to Denver for this winter, specifically January: about $137 roundtrip.

Be sure to bring lots of layers if you visit Summit County in December or January. It gets cold.

The lowest I remember last January was 33 below. It warmed up to a whopping 10 below that afternoon.

That's frostbite weather. BTW, I set a personal record last year: 5 cases of minor frostbite for the season - and when it's really cold, I don't even start until about noon.

I think I found it using expedia, then went directly to Delta site to pull the trigger. This was wednesday. On thursday the same flight/dates (weekdays early Jan) reverted back to typical fares I'd seen recently, more double in price. Not sure if it was a one day sale or what, but keep checking those two frequently and maybe it will pop up again in near future??

There are cheap Southwest flights NOW. You have to buy by the 20th.

Flights up to 1500 miles are $95 one way -- over 1500 miles are $125. Thus, IAD and DCA will be cheaper than BWI.

Travel 11/30 thru 12/14 and 1/4 thru 2/15.
