I am not sure which is worse all the chairlift guys calling me sir instead of dude or taking a roll today. I skied all day long. It was a little crunchy, but not bad. There was only on bump run open and it was so icy no one was skiing it, so I spent day on groomers. I was feeling really good with my turns and kept getting faster and faster as the day went on. I finally had enough and headed back to lodge to call it a day. I was really enjoying my last run down susquehanna and making some fast long turns, Guess I was looking down at lodge rather than the slope, but I popped over a couple unexpected bumps and must have gotten off balance. Not real sure exactly what happened but the fall seemed like it was in slow motion, but ended up with no skis. I was fine except for a bruise and muscle pull on back of calf. Then on way back to hotel I saw someone smash their car into a car in front of me. Guy got sideways in slick turn. After I made sure everyone was alright I felt a little better about my luck. I was lucky the guy didn't slide into me.
Exciting Day! Glad you are OK.

It's not bad when the lifties and other ski area people call you "Sir." I've paid my dues and taxes over the years.
It's even better when the locals call you "Dude" when you smoke 'em on the trails.
How windy was it today? It was a beyoootch here in DC today.
Sun, Mon is my weekend.

Wind was bad at times. I was afraid they would have to close the lift at one time, but it settled to a more reasonable level. It also pushed me up a hill once, it was a welcome help as I was working my way up to a higher slope. But it also sbout stopped me once or twice on a slight incline. I had started in around 3:30 because I had had enough wind and cold. It did keep most people off slopes all day.

I ski bumps like an arthritic old man, which is what I am
But a few weekends ago I was feeling frisky and threw in a little spread eagle on Exhibition at Whitetail and a kid in the chairlift above me called out "awesome jump dude". Made my night.
Could have been sarcasm?

Update: 2 weeks and still icing leg.
I went in to my doc last saturday, since foot turning some nice shades of purple and black. He got concerned and sent me to ER. I ended up being checked for blood clots due to the impact, which were negative. He said broken bone hurts who cares, blood clots kill, got my attention so I did wht he said. My wife has been refering to me as dufus
for last two weeks. all in all really a pain in more ways then one. I am hoping I can get back to running soon, I will be as round as I am tall soon. This will make me think twice next time I feel like pushing mach speed!
