Tragic Ski Accident in Wyoming
Sad and tragic accident over the Christmas holiday. An out-of-control schlemiel plows into a little girl and kills her. And kills himself too in the process.
I wouldn't mind if he killed himself. When I see irresponsible boarders (and skiers too) I often think of Darwin's Natural Selection theory. Unfortunately, this irresponsible action took the life of a little girl. So sad.

Very sad. Hard to tell what happened without knowing terrain and where the mother and child stopped. I think the article stated it was an expert level slope. Like all tragedies there are often many opportunities to have avoided. Get to the side of the slope as soon as you stop. Make sure people above can see you. Always be in control. My son told me this past week during a friendly father son race that if you have to fall to stop then you are not in control(I will leave delails out of how this came up in conversation). Don't go barreling down a hill if you can't see what's below. This is akin to shooting at something you cannot see when hunting, I have heard of more than one person hurting or killing a loved one this way. I know this is preaching to the choir, but I am sure this young man probably would have rather died then kill a young girl. Unfortunately he did both and it could have been avoided.
Very sad news. My biggest fear when I am skiing with my daughter.
Reminds me of the other fatal accident in Jackson Hole a few years back when the kid from Crownsville, MD, killed a woman in Laramie Bowl and witnessed by the people on the chair lift.
