MSNBC???..Come on Colonel..you will be brainwashed! eek smile

If you CK out the 2nd lower(precip)map it will tell the La nina story of a cooler wetter NW with a drier warmer SE but more important for us mid atlantic skiers is the swath of wet just to the west of us heading up to the great lakes.

That moisture is from the storms that will pass to the west of us & then we will have to wait for the cold fronts on the backsides to give us some snow & cold. Of course this benefits the Western highlands mostly.

I bet the NE can overcome this pattern & end up with a good year. The allegheny front high Country will suffer thru the rain to get to the snow but will survive IMHO...lets hope for other factors to help the lowlands.

"But the outlook is not guaranteed, Halpert said, and "the possibility of other outcomes exists."...Quote from article...

PS..Joe Bastardi (Accuweather) thinks we will see an early winter for the east before it mellows out so i'm taking a week off before x-mass to go skiing!...just in case...

"Northeast and Mid-Atlantic: Equal chances for above, near or below normal temperatures and precipitation. This is a tricky region to forecast with influences more often short-term, and generally predictable only a week or so in advance. If enough cold air and moisture are in place, areas north of the Ohio Valley and into the Northeast could see above average snow."

PROOF in the Puddin.. Storms rolling in from the Pacific, slaming the NW & then rolling up & out over the midwest & great lakes....& so it begins....

PS..Loveland ski area will start getting snow from this system tonite & into tue which will be good timing since they opened full time as of 9 am this morn..The rockies should have a good year this year (as almost always)
