resorts charging holiday/weekend rates when they have snow making in progress during ski sessions. I know they gotta make hay when conditions permit, especially in the Mid-Atlantic, but they shouldn't charge full fare when they have the guns on. Even a meager 10% off would be OK by me.

Such is the ski industry. I often forgo the holiday season because of cost and crowds. I'm glad I can ski weekdays.

Check the "snow guarantee". A lot of places have a "snow guarantee" where by if you don't like condtions you can bring the lift ticket back for a refund or at least a portion of the cost. I have used this to bail on poor snow days after a few runs and strech dollars to better snow days.
