Blue Knob has redesigned their web site. It looks good but the interesting thing is their new trail map online. Gone from the map are the Bone Yard Glades and Mineshaft Glades, both were accessible from Lower Shortway. Also, East Wall Glades appears to no longer be accessible from Edgeset and now appears to be accessible from Stembogan.

A new glade is now on the map. The upper mountain Skyline Glade is to the skiers right of Upper Expressway. I skied some cleared trees there last season but the run ended in brush and bramble. Now it looks like they finished the job and the exit is now on Mambo Alley.

Also, check out the new trail rating system.

On their website I noticed this chance to ski for ~$15 on Friday, Dec 18 (or another weekday with voucher):

Blue Knob Kicks off the Season with Special Toys for Tots Event

December 18th

Blue Knob All Seasons Resort has announced the ski area will kick off its season with a special "Toys for Tots" event on Friday, December 18th at the ski lodge.

Marines from the 4th Marine Division based in Ebensburg will be on hand to collect the toys for needy children. Anyone donating a toy valued at $15 or more will receive a voucher good for a full day midweek lift pass. Last season Marines collected over 400 toys to distribute to children throughout the region as part of the Toys for Tots program.

The event will be held beginning at 9 a.m. and non-skiers are welcome to attend. Skiing will be available depending on snow conditions.
