I admit I hijacked this idea from The Nationals message board, but I thought it was a great idea with Thanksgiving coming.

I am Thankful for skiing because:

Skiing has provided my family with so many shared memories, that have covered toddler-hood to teen angst, and god willing will coninue into grandparenthood. It has simply been one of the best family activities ever.

There are all kinds of fine altruistic reasons like family togetherness, nature, fitness, travel, camraderie, gold medals, etc. but the most powerful one is entirely selfish - it makes ya feel young again! laugh

I have to agree. It's one thing my family does together. With four grown sons it's hard to get everyone together. We usually do at least one ski trip together each year. It's not to hard to talk them into going to the outer banks either.

It expands the base of people who love mountains, and therefore care about the natural environment
