Already? I thought it was a rerun from last season, but to my great surprise, the racing has already begun. The men's racing from October 25 just ended, and now the women's giant slalom, from October 24, is on TV.

If you don't have over-the-air digital TV, you're really missing something. This is the Universal Sports Channel.
They'll show this a bunch of times.

Check http://www.universalsports.com for the schedule.

I had never even heard of the "Four Hills" competition until last year, which was my first winter with a digital TV conversion box. I thought it was just about the greatest thing I had ever seen. I have hours of it on tape. Sorry, no DVR yet.

4-3. Really a great channel. Two thumbs up.

Channel 207 for those of us in the District (with Comcast). Yep, Universal Sports is a tremendous gift to ski racing fans everywhere.

They had a nice early start to their Winter this year..Remember a couple of years ago all the writeups about the Alps losing all but there highest terrain to GW?..Anything could happen down the road but this early start is a relief to many I'm sure!

On the subject of the Four Hills jumping competition....

A link at http://www.uniwatchblog.com/ led me to this:

Solden and Hintertux are both glacier skiing. It's not surprising that they're open. I've skied Hintertux in October.
Never have done Solden, though.
