Some snow news.
October 28, 2009
Forgot to get on here and post what happened a few weekends ago.
First weekend of bow season. Sat. 17th. When the first snow hit.
We were camping at kumbrabow state forest and getting ready to hunt. got up saturday morning and went out. started snowing HARD. All day long basically. Snow started to pile up fast.
We were in a silverado with a trailer on the back hauling 2 atv's.
The transfer case in the front was pushing snow and the back of the trailer was in the snow. I didnt measure, but i know the truck sits up pretty high. Im thinking at least 6 inches taking into account the depth of the ruts and everything.
We were getting worried we wouldnt make it out. It was a nice october snow storm.
Went back on tuesday and everything was gone...bummer...
Just wanted to give an update...I saw where CV got about 3 inches...This just goes to verify near Pickens is the snowiest place in WV...lol
Kumbrabow State Forest?? That was probably just blown in man-made from Snowshoe
I've mentioned Kumbrabow as the Snowiest place in WV a few times over the years..Untill I discovered MPC & the Roaring Plains..
I dont know about MPC or Dolly Sods, But there was plenty of snow out there that day. I'll make another trip out that way in a week or two. Hopefully we get some more snow and i'll send another report.
My legs are hurting already from all the skiing im going to do this year...This year is gonna be my year...
