Too easy for this forum.
What I think is interesting is the likely age of this photo. It appears to show much of the original USAF structures that have now been mostly torn down. This aerial shot must have come from the very early days of ski ops at Blue Knob PA, perhaps mid 1960s.

Ok, that explains a lot. I have been there only a couple of times, and did not remember that much on top. Also, the write-up stated that the lodge was mid-mountain. I was beginning to wonder if I really did ski there.

I had the same feeling... When I first glanced at the picture, I thought "easy... Blue Knob" (I've only been once, and that was last season). The more I looked at it, though, the less sure I felt, because I remembered a lot less development.

I actually stayed in the old AF barracks during a late 60s visit to Blue Knob.
