I don't know if I was dreaming or what, but you know how you half-way listen to radio not really paying attention but something grabs your attention? About a week ago I thought I heard and advertisement of a development somewhere which would include various recreational activities including skiing. Didn't catch the name or place but am sure that I was in Virginia when I heard it. Maybe they were referring to XC skiing, or water skiing, but I think it was a DC Station that was running the ad. Anybody else hear anything or maybe I've had one too many pale ales.
Might have been the place that Liberty University is (was?) building.
Liberty University is building a snowflex hill. It will be opening in June. I have been in contact with the hill's manager and expect to be there shortly after it opens.
I will be sure to report!
Will it be open to the general public?
think so. but they have had zero press on it so far.
Discover channel is doing a how they built it on it.

Oh, good. I was wondering how that project was going. Do you happen to know what features will be available?
Let me know when you are going - I'd like to check this thing out for myself!
ill be heading down some time this summer to check it out.. il make sure to post a TR!
Anyone have opening day? I called and no one seemed to know...
I need to go!
I cannot imagine falling on that surface. Any bare ski would get a nasty brush burn.
Another ski development that had been underway was an indoor year round slope at the Xanadu develoment, Meadowlands NJ.
This project was over-the-top even for a good economy, but according to this article still looks like it will open in 2010, but not certain specifically about the ski slope:

Suggestion: do _not_ use your nice skis on this surface.
