I was curious if anyone on the forum has ever been to Oak Mountain Ski Center (http://www.oakmountainski.com/)in Speculator, NY.
It's pretty small, and I probably wouldn't even know about it except that I have some family roots in the area. I went there once as a young child and have limited recollection of skiing the novice area until an "agony of defeat" wipeout occurred and I gave it up for the day.
Anyway, just curious if anyone has ever been there and, if so, what you thought about it.

I think one of my parents skied there once. I lived in Rome for a few years as a kid and whenever we went to Gore or Whiteface, we'd pass it on the way up. I was always fascinated with the place, never went there though.
My brother and I were talking about taking the wives and kids up next winter and checking it out. We've got access to free lodging, which is always nice. From what I recall though, winter travel in that area can be brutal.
