I like the last two paragraphs:

"May 2006, an Asian brown bear owned by Cassell escaped into the wild after someone cut the lock to its enclosure. The 400-pound bruin has not been seen since.

Meanwhile Monday, skiers and snowboarders took advantage of a fresh coating of snow that dusted the 26 trails now open at Snowshoe Mountain."

I guess the skiers were bait?

That "article" is terribly written...

"David Cassell of Cass found the tiger and killed it, Murphy said. He was not sure where or how the animal was killed Monday. He was waiting for a conservation officer's report."

That may be one of the most confusing paragraphs I've read in a while... I'm sure they meant that Murphy wasn't sure where or how the animal was killed, but it's weird to say that right after saying that David Cassell killed it.

My head hurts.

This story is just cracking me up. I guess this would improve your race time...if you saw a large cat coming at you;-)

I'll have to make some calls and find out the real story and report back.
