Skiing and Snow boarding on the cheap, A guide of options to lower your cost per visit
By Ed 'Birdmon' Fowler aka skiracerx

Skiing and Snow boarding can be expensive. All resorts offer plans to help lower the cost per visit. This guide will point out children's discount options, one trip saving options, and multiple day trip saving options. You can always work at the resort and receive privileges.

When I first started skiing 12 years ago, the options were not as plentiful as today. The 40 percent or greater savings occur when number of visits equal 4 times or more. In reality you can save even more.

Children's specific discount options:
Children 5 and under free lift ticket with paying adult.
o Rental for child will be needed. Call Resort
4th and 5th Grade PA programs. You do not have to live in PA.

One trip discount options:
Early and late season resorts usually offer reduced rates. There are less trails open etc.

Ladies, Men,College, Hero days (police, fire, military. Resort Specific

Multiple day trip saving options:
Comes down to how much you go. A breakeven is usually 4 to 5 visits. Your mileage may vary.
Resorts offer-
o Multi Day ticket plans
o Percent off Cards. Example Liberty, Roundtop and Whitetail have the Advantage card for individuals and families. You pay a one time fee, than only pay 40% off of the regular rates. 6th Visit Free.
o 4, 5, and 6 day ticket packs are offered by some.
o Night Plans. Resort Specific. Example Liberty, Roundtop and Whitetail have the Night Club Card. Pay a flat fee and enjoy three mountains as much as you like 4 to 10pm and 3 to 10pm on Sundays starting January 4, 2009. You can add an advantage card option for the day and December. www.skidome.org

There are discount options for all who seek them. Call your local resort and discuss your needs. Of course if you are looking for the Liberty, Roundtop, Whitetail Night Club Card I hope you visit my club www.skidome.org or call 410-356-5548. This plan offers 51 Trails, Up to 930 foot vertical drop and 300+ acres, all within an hour to hour and a half drive.

Since the resorts are going to open early I will give you the best customer service in the area to get you on the slopes asap.
