Upcoming mountain bike events in Davis/Canaan!

Don't know if there are any serious mountain bikers here, but there are 2 events coming up worth mentioning.

Sept 27: "Revenge of the Rattlesnake" MTB race. Coinciding with the leaf peepers festival. It's gonna start at Timberline this year and end in Davis. Designed to beat you down it will run a course approximately 36 miles or so through some of the gnarliest trails possible.

Oct 4th: "Tour de Lilly" Tour/fun ride led by the owner of blackwater bikes, roger lilly, followed by a BBQ and maybe even lunch will be brought to a stop somewhere along the way.

Both are not really for the faint of heart tho! Might want to test yourself by riding something like Plantation Trail first to see its something you might find "fun" smile

JR over at Timberline has the Dh event
9/27/2008- 9/28/2008

Timberline is proud of its newly expanded downhill biking terrain, which has been enthusiastically received by bikers this summer. The Revenge of the Rattlesnake & Timberline "Double Down" DH Mountain Bike race, will be held the weekend of Sept. 27th-28th. The Revenge of the Rattlesnake will begin at Timberline on Saturday Sept. 28th and end in downtown Davis at Blackwater Bikes. The "Double Down" DH Race is a 2 run event on Sunday Sept. 28th at Timberline. This race consists of 2 different courses with 1 run on each course. Registration will start at 9am and the race will begin at 12pm. Entry fee is $45 and includes all day lift access, insurance, and WVMBA 1 day membership.
