Came across the article below on Ropeways . Seems like this could be a meaningful development for our region. Previous temperature-independent (ie warm weather) snowmaking systems required chemicals. This one is water only, and presumably it is viable technology if it is being installed by two major resorts in Europe.

IDE All WEATHER SNOWMAKER - The first snowmaker had been assembled and tested in Israel prior to shipment to the Alps.
The leading ski resorts of Pitztal (Austria) and Zermatt (Switzerland) are inaugurating a new era in snow making, by choosing the IDE All Weather Snowmaker from Israel to deliver large amounts of snow at all ambient temperatures, totally chemical free.

Both projects, covered heavily by the local media, are already under construction, and due to be operational during October 2008.

Interesting, Norsk! I guess this thing is simply a snow-cone machine ... scaled up several thousand percent.
