I hope you guys going north have great skiing.

As for me, duty calls. \:D I have a critical meeting in Pasadena next Tues./Wed. Being an opportunist I will fly to LA tomorrow, arriving by noon PDT. Then it is a couple of hrs. drive to Sequoia/King's Canyon National Park. My friend with the great ski house at Mammoth is in Europe right now but that's not a problem. I have been wanting to check out backcountry skiing among the giant trees. Someone posted a TR on Telemark Tips of an overnight from the trailhead at Lodgepole campground (6700 ft.) up to Pear Lake Hut. That's about 6 miles and 3000+ vertical feet. It looks beautiful but I am just going to take a couple of day trips each at maybe half that distance and half that vert. I'll get to check it out and perhaps find some nice place to do laps on low angle powder or corn. It has been dry for a few days and should remain that way for a few more so I think there will be no road closures or chain restrictions. I'm excited about it and will report back later.
