I recently purchased my second helmet, a GIRO G10. The way the vent holes are shaped it seems to me that wearing the helmet in precipitation might allow liquid to enter through the vent holes and then onto the head? Anybody have experience with this? Are there rain helmet liners one can purchase?

I haven't seen anything like helmet liners. Clearly the solution is to not ski in that kind of precipitation. ;\)

I have five helmets between my wardrobe at SS and DC. All have ventilation holes. I don't know why but have never had a problem with rain entering the holes. I have had the problem with uncomfortably cold head when I left the cooling vents open, however. The cooling vents DO work.

That's the Global Warming Ski Helmet

Interesting, but I am not sure I am ready for such a bland cover at age 67.

Lou,
More my style, but what I am looking for would be similar to a shower cap but obviously engineered for a helmet. Maybe this weekend I'll find out if I have a problem. It is just that when I look at my new GIRO G10 helmet, it sure looks to me that rain would come through the straight upright topside vent holes, even with the vents closed.
I must admit though, that skiing in Utah this winter in blizzards I had no leaks and I have to believe that escaping heat would melt the snow that fell into the vents.
I fear underdeveloped snow this weekend at Snowy Luau so I guess this will be the test.

I'm doing snowdances by a bonfire so we can develop the snow before it falls down...
