Does anyone know of any rental places near timberline beside ski barn? I've heard the equipment at timberline is shoddy, but ski barn's rates don't seem any better for the period we're looking at. Heading there this weekend...

Canaan Valley Stores ("the Exxon station") rents equipment...don't know anything about the quality, etc though.

thanks everyone. I guess I was looking for a better price, but if Ski Barn is the way to go, so be it.

You could also check a local ski shop to where you live. They rent for weekends and price and equipment may be better. Worth a look.

We were there several weeks ago and rented from Ski Barn for my daughter's friend. The prices at Canaan Store are about the same as Ski Barn but the quality seemed lower. Ski Barn is the best available in both price and quality.

Tline has a demo shop that is underutilized. They have current year gear and it's usually much better than you can find at the Barn. It's the door to the right of the ticket windows at Tline.
