Bought this mint condition set at the Ski Chalet swap this year. Health and work reasons are dictating this ski season may be a total loss for me and certainly wont be up to the level I thought it would be.

I'll get you more info on the bindings and pop some pictures up tonight or tomorrow but wanted to see if there was any interest.

$300 takes em. Pickup would be in Kingstwone/Alexandria VA.

Great Ski! I pro formed them a year and a half ago and never regretted my purchase. They slice, they dice, they plow through mashed potato and sugar mound crud as good as any ski I've ever been on. Then you get a pow- pow day and... Good price too for the paying public. Mine are 162s.

Darn. That's probably a bit long for me. I'm about 190 lbs. (little less before the holidays; little more after) and prefer moderate over high speeds so I'm thinking the zeniths in 170 would be the ones for me. I was demoing the K2 Raider last weekend in 167 and it felt about right.

SteveC, how tall are you, and what is your ability level? At 190lbs, you're getting into the longer range of skis if you're an advanced intermediate or better. 167cm seems short to me unless you're a low intermediate or less than 5'9" in height.

I'm 5' 10". As far as ability level, well, I honestly don't know, somewhere in the intermediate range. I'm 41 and been doing this for 4 years now. I've taken about 4 lessons and feel comfortable on all of the non-bumped slopes at whitetail and liberty. I can make it down Exhibition (the bumped slope at Whitetail) but it is not pretty at all. I have trouble not slipping into the back seat.

For point of reference, I demoed the K2 Raiders (stiff) and Recons (stiffer) and did not like the Recons; too much ski for me. I had wanted to demo the z9's but they did not have them. I'm currently skiing some old demo Rossi Axiums in 170 but they are a little too soft; I seem to get bounced around alot.

Hard to make the call without a test run. I just don't have enough experience on different ski's of different lengths to judge.

What year Recons and what length? I've skied the Recons, and they are a very damp (soft), but heavy ski. Unless I'm spazzing out on the ski model, which ya never know.

I'm afraid I'm not very fluent in ski-talk. I demoed this years model Recon in 167cm. I thought they were "heavy", and said so but the K2 rep. replied by saying they were "stiffer" (not heavier) than the Raiders 'cause they had a metal layer in them. I dunno. The Rossis (R11's in 155cm and z11's in ???cm) did seem lighter.

OK I have pictures but don't have them hosted anywhere.

If anyone wants pics of the skis, please email me at dcmidnight at hotmail dot com. Thanks for the interest, I'll try to answer any other questions I can.

If you want to send me the pics I can host them and put them up for you. My email address is in my profile. Let me know if you send them cuz I only check that email once or twice a month.

SteveC, for your height/wieght I think 167-172cm is probably fine, even up to 179cm if you were advanced.

Could one of the mods edit the title of this thread to say that they are 176s? Thanks!
