I've been checking this board out for a while now without posting but figured there is no better time to post.

that being said i'm hoping to make a trip up to timberline soon but with there only being 1 black open right now I cannot justify the 5+ hr trip there. i guess the question is what trails are they blowing snow on? any of the advanced trails?

They just started snowmaking on Winterset (green) yesterday. Most snowmaking continues to be concentrated on White Lightning (black), Salamander (green), and the base area. No manmade snow anywhere else on the mountain. I'm not expecting any interesting new trails opening until MLK weekend at the earliest. That is barring major snow dumps (like we are having today) allowing some of the tree runs to open unofficially.
