But that snow never fell, If youre referring to this:
2006-

Last year the first falling snow was October 23.

This snow should be almost 2 weeks earlier.

actually i believe that at some point there was a forecast in late august for rain/snow but am not sure if it was 1, 2, or 3 years ago. lets hope that it verifies this year!

Snowshoe-

As of 3:20pm on Thursday, October 11 Snowshoe Mountain is experiencing the first snowfall of the season! It's cloudy, windy and 32 degrees... perfect weather for a ski resort! Although we don't expect this snow to accumulate, it's a sign of great things to come. Our projected opening date is November 21, and we hope to begin making snow in early November. Mother Nature is beginning to deliver our typical cold weather and another epic winter is off to a great start! Thought about your winter vacation yet? If not, now is the time because winter has arrived!

Speaking of Snowshoe...I just saw on the site that they are offering a $299 unlimited season pass for currently enrolled college students...what a deal!! I may have to consider that one.
