NSTALLATION BEGINS ON THE NEW HIGH-SPEED SIX-PASSENGER CHAIR LIFT ON GUNNAR SLOPE
Installation has begun on the new Gunnar six-passenger chairlift on the North Face side of the mountain. This coming season, skiers and boarders alike will be able to enjoy a much faster and convenient ride to the top of the hill.

This $3 million Doppelmayr CTF lift will allow our guests to enjoy more time on the slopes and less time in line. The previous quad lift could transport 1,800 people per hour. That amount is now doubled with a total of 3,600 people per hour. There will also be less time traveling on the lift with a much faster ride of only 3 minutes compared to the previous 9 + minute ride. Other added benefits are the deluxe padded seats for a more comfortable journey and the decelerating chairs that allow for easier loading and unloading.

The email has pictures, I will post them later.

I got the email today too - I'm so psyched I may do dome hiking on the NF side next weekend - after my mowing chores are done.

I was MTBing there a few weeks ago. The old lift was totally gone when I was there. It is going to be pretty sweet. There was also a mention about new glades. Any news about that?

I was hiking at 7 Springs on Friday morning. Here are the pictures I took, most of which were of the new Six Pack installation.

I did not see any work on any new gladed areas yet. I also spoke to a few workers and they were unaware of any plans for the old triple chair as of yet.

7 Springs will definitely be earning some of my hard earned dollars next year. Since I took over as organizer for a local snowboard group they may end up with some of theirs too.

Awesome pictures - especially the horses. I can't wait to get up there this weekend and do some nosing around. The installation of this lift proves once again that 7 Springs "gets it" like no other resort in the mid-Atlantic, with the possible exception of Snowshoe.

7S is trying to be the #1 east coast ski area south of VT as far as I can tell. If you are going to be at 7S this weekend stop by Hellen's at around 5 PM. I will be the guy getting married. ;\)

Congrats to the both of you. Married at a ski resort and moving to Utah, it sounds like the right way to start a marriage. Have fun in your new life.

Congrats on the wedding, Tromano.

As for 7S, I love seeing resorts invest in infrastructure. I may have to make the trip out there next season!

Thanks guys! It was such a fun day, and a fantastic party. I wish I could do it all over again (same guy, of course)!

Once we get that official job offer, we are outta DC! (not to put too much pressure on tromano!)

Ode to the Newlyweds
When a man skis with power and his bride skis with grace
the only thing better than powder is white wedding lace.
Like pioneers heading west to test their worth,
they cross the prairies for the greatest snow on earth.
And though the winds may howl and the last chair may run late,
together they will never want for a liftride snuggle mate.

Best Wishes,
JimK
