I typically refrain from reporting on conditions at the Springs as I may be seen as having a bit of a bias. But this time I cannot refrain, today was "off the hook". I skied all day starting on the front and working my way over to the back side, skiing every open slope along the way.

Every slope has excellent coverage and very little ice. The bumps that the resort made with the groomers on Stowe are perfectly placed and begging to be skied.

Wagner remained packed powder all day with the headwall holding strong, not the normal skied off ice it usually becomes by the end of the day.

The new terrain park was not open but the Super Pipe is close, and it is huge. The groomers working on it look like match box cars. One of the new things I do not like is the fact that they have closed Sunset slope for the Nastar course. That is one of my favorite runs on the mountain.

N Face, Giant Steps, Yodeler and Gunnar skied great all day. The crowds were manageable as I skied with friends most of the day so I had to wait in line.

The Springs has done a great job getting the mountain back in shape, and I cannot wait for the predicted 18 inches of snow to come this week.

I have to agree. Conditions were absolutely amazing and the crowds were minimal. It was nice finally getting to meet you, if only for a few minutes.

Those bumps though... Haha. I thought I knew how to ski bumps but those huge moguls were killing me.

I have made 3 trips up to 7 Springs (weekday) over the past 2 weeks, the most recent being Wednesday the 7th. I can only agree that the conditions are some of the best I have ever seen! Here are a few pics from last Wednesday.

The empty North parking lot.

I couldn't believe how much fresh untracked snow I was finding. I would ski a line, ride up, and find that no one else had been there. Incredible! 2 of the 3 tracks to the right are mine. Riding up the Gunnar lift looking at Giant Steps.

The lower part of the Gunnar slope. Again, more untracked powder on the right that had drifted 1-2 feet deep. Was coming up and hitting me in the chest. Fantastic.

You can view the Super Pipe progress on their webcams (scroll to the bottom) It's been amazing to watch them crank out 20 foot piles of snow for this thing...
