Normally when I go to Utah I stay at a timeshare in Park City but the reservations got screwed up this year. Given that I like the canyon areas best anyway how easy is it to do the "Stay in Salt Lake, catch the bus to ski" move?

Does the ski bus run downtown or do I have to get to a park'n'ride location? Do I need a rental car? Is the ski utah superpass thing the best way to go for lift tickets?

Thanks.

Stay at the Embassy Suites. They have free happy hour from 5-7 and a free full breakfast. Not sure about the bus situation, we had a rental - but did see a number of folks waiting for buses.

Thanks. Is that in downtown Salt Lake or some suburb? Right now I'm looking at getting the Raddison downtown for $89/night.

Not sure that the bus goes to Park City, but maybe you meant the other canyons? We stay at Embassy Suites also, it's downtown near little america motel, walking distance to restaurants & such. We pay on average $50 day for lift tickets, u can buy them at most ski shops and some supermarkets. Bus would probably work ok if you intend to only ski the cottonwoods.

I stayed at http://www.crystalinns.com/slcdt.html
* hot breakfast
* dinner
* ride to and from airport
* shuttle to restuarants
* hot tub/pool

Depends on your group, but if you are hitting the canyons and not partying, you can probably get by with just the bus. It was easy, the maps are good and the buses timely.
The super pass was good to us. I stayed with a 13 and 8 year old and did the bus. It was pretty easy, only two gotcha's. Last bus on Friday from Brighton can be FULL (we needed a shoe horn to get in). Last bus from Snowbird was delayed by a jack knifed truck (rental wouldn't have helped).

ENJOY you lucky person.

Monk,
What my friend and I have done for the past several years there is to stay in Midvale at the Homewood Suites right on Ft Union Blvd. It's VERY convienent to both LCC and BCC and not very far away from Rt 80 to get to Park City, Snowbasin, etc.
