The Snowshoe/Slatyfork Sewer Plant MESS is a classic case of local and state governments falling "asleep at the wheel" (for years and years) and not conducting oversight. The local government was too busy enjoying an explosion in the tax-base (due to rapid, out-of-control development at Snowshoe/Silver Creek) while the state of WVA was also enjoying a steady increase in various revenue sources. And, unfortunately "oversight" went out the window. Now, hard choices have to be made and no matter what the final decisions are, some land owners will be hurt.....of course, the environment is bound to be harmed, not only in the short term, but over the long haul.
