Yeah I recognized it as the MO one. My grandparents live in St. Peters and, since Snow Creek (the local ski bump here in KC) just turned it's biggest run into a snowtubing park, a random trip to St. Louis to see the grandparents this winter could include some skiing, too (were those my grandparents in the Luau photo????

). HV looks generally bigger than Snow Creek, even before SC butchered its terrain. I hear it's icier though, but desperate times may call for desperate measures...
Hey if it doesn't start snowing in Utah soon, I may have the first ski trip report of the year! My brother and I are debating Loveland versus Arapahoe the weekend of the 4th and 5th of Nov. All I know is there's gonna be some altitude sickness coming on soon.

In addition to the Park City trip, and maybe a trip to the new Hidden Valley

, there's a co-worker who has a two week condo rental in Gunnison, another lurking "business trip" to New Mexico and a final potential trip with my brother to Wolf Creek/Monarch. Even if I only make one out of three of those, it'd be a damn good season!
ps- Searide, to specifically answer your question, 3 1/2 to 4 hours. If my grandparents didn't live out there the trip would simply never happen, not when there's so much more to be offered in
Council Bluffs, Iowa!!!
