Canaan Valley got 7" overnight, and the pics on the White Grass webpage prove it. Wunderground

Hope you West Virginians with scales or skins enjoy it today! I'm so jealous!

Wildcat Mountain, located high up in Pinkham Notch, NH, is once again white with snow (5 APR 06), and opening trails with over a foot of new snow, adding 15 trails overnight! Groomers reported areas of at least two feet on the mountain. Wildcat had the earliest opening in it's nearly 50 year history last October, when over four feet of snow was dropped on the ski area in two back-to-back snow storms.

The fat lady must be all mixed up this year.

Awesome, I love it! It's too bad all the ski areas closed down already.

Steve,
Now, the hard part would be convincing my wife (a non-skier) that I need yet a 3rd pair of skis!

Makes me tempted to get some heel-release touring bindings for one set of my skis. If I had an easy way to skin up these trails, I could just do regular alpine skiing on the way down. As it is, I would still like to hike up and ski down in situations like this... haven't done that since Tuckermans in college.

Well...I am not sure how these K2 inserts work but it appears that there are some binding screw patterns that share measurements. Perhaps you can find out how to just swap bindings...but for you Alpine peeps, there is always alpine touring gear aka:randonne (which we all know is French for "can't telemark" )

anyways, if you need movtivation to go AT, check out this video..SIK monkey

Oh man, Steve, that was the perfect "welcome to the spring ski season" video. Too bad our spring season is over here on the east coast...
