It does feel good watching Andy slowly come mentally unravelled at the sound of my name. If only I could get women to react the same way...

Yo, Jimmy! You need another topic like the untopic to catapult you into history. I think that RogerZ is planning his stratagies as I type. 3rd down and long........

The Untopic was to message boards what Stairway to Heaven was for Rock back in the 70s: one of its kind, impossible to repeat. No way Jimmy can top it!

Impossible to repeat? Shoot, every time I turned on the radio in grade school and high school I heard that song.

Considering the old dead horse rock anthems of the 70's, the dueling lead guitars at the end of Freebird (live version in One More From/Fer The Road) and Duane Allman's vicious backing slide guitar in Layla blow away anything from Stairway to Heaven.

Man, you're not just wrong about skiing, you're wrong about your music, too.

More talented songs? Of course... almost any Jimi Hendrix song would prove that. But as far as pure sound goes, there's nothing like it, which is why we hear it incessantly on the radio. BUT, the point here... if you think Stairway to Heaven was second rate, perhaps you're suggesting that Jimmy can outdo the Untopic? Or someone else can? I doubt it!

Well Mr. Z, I think you've skied too long with your iPod headphones buried in your ears, cuz your hearing is obviously completely gone.

But you are clearly right in that the amount of airplay a song gets on the radio is a true indication of "pure sound." And Wayne Newton demonstrates his appreciation of "pure sound" by including Stairway in his Vegas Review. And the Acme Elevator Company surely knows the tastes of it's customers by including Stairway in its Muzak playlist for the captive audience.

I'm putting this to rest and for all. From now on everyone is forced to listen to Hootie and the Blowfish on blarring speakers while riding up the lifts, and must sign a waiver to attend one of their concerts before purchasing a lift ticket.

Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band, that's the latest find thanks to Borders. Check 'em out- newgrass fusion sound. Think you Dave Matthews/Hootie fanatics might get a kick out of them.

If you're reaching for the Iron Butterfly, I've gotta go with Uriah Heap here... Whiter Shade of Pale. Doesn't go on forever but you know what a name for a band. Plus the song title is perfect for snow fanatics.

D'oh! Yes, oops. What did Uriah Heap do? They're stuck in my mind for some reason, but I can't remember their big song...
