Well composed amateur photo from a nice album of shots taken at Mt. Rose ski area in Nevada. Located just 30 minutes from the Reno airport, this is the closest ski area to that popular gateway to the Lake Tahoe ski region. The juxtaposition I like in the photo is the old school guy venturing onto "The Chutes", some of the newest lift served extreme terrain to open in the U. S. http://community.webshots.com/photo/216465938/230239726CVnWMm The Chutes at Mt. Rose officially opened just last season for the first time since the 1960s. Here's more info on this terrain: http://www.rgj.com/news/stories/html/2004/12/09/87302.php and http://www.mtrose.com/
Look at those beautiful straight edge skis about to make mincemeat out of the meanest terrain in Nevada! But is that saying much? Maybe a trip to Mount Rose by someone on this board is in order...
