This form of skiing takes its name from Telemark, Norway. Here's an action shot of a telemarker taken in the Lyngen Alps of Norway, which are located well north of the Arctic Circle, but weather is moderated there by warm ocean currents. Scenic mountains rise directly out of never-frozen fjords to heights of 6,000 feet. This photo comes from an album containing other beautiful shots.
