4 to 8 inches is the latest for the canaan area sat nite & sunday. Even the NC mtns getting into the act with 2 to as much as 10 inches above 6000'. Hikers & campers up in the Mt Mitchell area beware!!

Im not too far from Timberline/canaan and we are callin for around 7 here...and im only about 2100 or 2200 feet...Up on the mountain they should be well over a foot if all goes right...Im not sure how much longer Timberline is going to stay open but this storm should help...only downfall is all next week, temps in upper 60 and low 70's...

It's been snowing for 4hrs in Blacksburg. Only a light coating has been able to stick to some elevate surfaces but the higher elevations are already reporting over a half a foot in some places. If the wind isn't too bad, tomorrow could be reminiscent of last April's epic day in WV.
