Hey Mountain Masher!

BK is reporting 5" new snow. No new terrain open though. Is it true? I need a reliable source.
Hi Tromano,
Yes, BK has probably received about 4 or 5 inches of natural snow thus far. However, they got hit pretty hard by the warm weather and rains that passed thru a couple of days ago. Fortunately, I don't think that BK received quite as much rain as 7-Springs; but, like 7-Springs, the snow base at BK was significantly reduced. So, BK is likely concentrating on making snow on the 12 or 14 trails that are currently open, which is probably a wise move at this point. On the way home from 7-Springs this evening, I did notice that the lights on Deer Run (at BK) were turned on, which might mean that BK is planning on opening up Deer Run in addition to the trails that they already have open.
Hey Mountain Masher thanks for the update. If they are truly planning on opening up dear run that is great news. I personally consider that to be a black diamond so it would defiantly be a boost to their expert terrain. Do you know if they have made any snow on extrovert this year? At this point on the season I would imagine that if they haven't It would pretty much not be worth the effort to open it if they haven't.
I wonder how Blue knob is doing economically this year. I imagine that they have had to spend a lot on snowmaking this year and with most of the lower mountain closed this season I'm guessing visits are down. Also how many dcskiers out there have passed by Blue Knob to go to laurel this year. Id imagine that they have taking a fair share of BK's visitors since there expert terrain has been open all season.
BK's web page (as of 1130 AM on 18 FEB) reads that they received 8 inches of new snow (7 Springs is reporting 5 inches of new snow).
BK has fudged their snowfall amount as usual!!!!! The ACTUAL new snowfall amount at BK is 4 inches!!!!!!
