Whistler finally closed its regular trails yesterday. But now Blackcomb has glacier skiing open until August 4th!

Has anyone been up there to ski this late in the year, and if so, how is it?

I've never been this late but I was there only 2 months ago (right after blackcomb closed to prepare for the glacier skiing).

From what I could tell, the glacier has plenty to skid on. And it that's not fun, there's plenty more stuff to do there.

I live in Seattle and was up there a few times this year including the beginning of May. The skiing there late season is awesome. They have about 5000 ft of vertical, so as the late season moves on you lose more and more of that. By this time, you're really only skiing 1000 ft of vertical at the very top which is served by two T-bars. They run clinics till noon, and open to the public from noon-3pm. I'm thinking about trying it out nextweekend. I'll post a report if I end up going.

I've got a good collection of their web cams on my site at: http://www.joeandkim.com/wb.htm
