I know, I know, I've been introducing a lot of new features lately. But here's another one I implemented this morning that I think could be pretty useful: the new DCSki Resort Matcher.
The Resort Matcher lets you tell DCSki what you're looking for and then suggests Mid-Atlantic ski areas that fit your criteria. You can narrow things down by distance, state, major ski pass, mountain size, resort strengths, night skiing, terrain parks, tubing, and even current forecast conditions.
For example, you could tell it you're starting in Baltimore, want to stay within 150 miles, have an Epic Pass, prefer a larger mountain, and want night skiing. It will rank the resorts that meet those criteria, show how strongly each one matches, and provide links to the resort profile and driving directions.
A few caveats: distances are straight-line estimates rather than driving distances, and the weather options rely on recently stored forecast data and can obviously change. The matcher also describes resort features in general terms. A resort might offer night skiing, for example, without offering it every night.
The resort itself is always the authoritative source. Before making a trip, be sure to verify current hours, operating schedules, conditions, available terrain and amenities directly with the resort. The Resort Matcher is meant to help you discover possibilities and narrow down your choices.
Here is an example of the Resort Matcher in action:
