This winter, Pennsylvania’s Shawnee Mountain will be unveiling a new SKIwee Bowl Teaching Area, including two carpet lifts, colorful teaching aides, permanent fencing and automated snowmaking. Doubling the size of the former children’s teaching area, the contoured terrain will be located between lower Bushkill Trail and Little Chief Slope.
Shawnee will also be building a new Incubator Terrain Park, located on the Country Club Slope and offering beginner/novice skill level elements such as rails, boxes, and snow features. Shawnee will offer lessons in the Incubator Park specifically geared towards riders and skiers interested in trying out park features.
The Pocono Plunge Snow Tubing Park will add a small number of two-person snow tubes, accommodating one adult and one small child. Shawnee is also replacing paper gift certificates with prepaid debit gift cards. These gift cards can be used throughout the resort and will carry over their balance from season to season.
