Buy Tires, Then Ski

The Michelin tire company is trying to encourage skiers and boarders to outfit their autos with new tires. To sweeten the deal, Michelin has teamed with “Mountain of Distinction” eastern ski resorts and is offering two free lift tickets for every complete set of four tires purchased at participating dealers between November 1 and December 15, 1999. For those that have never skied, the passes can be redeemed for two free learn-to-ski or snowboard packages.

“In November, car owners prepare their cars for winter and a quality set of tires is key to winter driving safety,” said Mountains of Distinction president Brian Fairbank, who also serves as CEO of Jiminy Peak. “Michelin has always stood for quality, as do the Mountains of Distinction group of leading regional ski areas. We all look forward to welcoming the Michelin customers to our slopes this winter.”

Local resorts participating in the program include Seven Springs, Ski Liberty, Ski Roundtop, and Whitetail Ski Resort. The tickets are valid during the 1999-2000 ski season, with the exception of Dec. 25, Jan 2., Jan. 15-17, and Feb. 19-21.
