Regardless of ability level, everyone can improve their skiing or snowboarding by taking a lesson. The SCWDC Ski School aims to make this easy and fun by sponsoring numerous “Skiing Enhancement Trips” this winter at area resorts. One-day trips are scheduled for Ski Roundtop and Whitetail, while weekend trips are scheduled for Canaan Valley, Elk Mountain, and Snowshoe. Trips include instruction, lift tickets, and transportation to the slopes by carpool or bus.

The SCWDC has around 4,500 members and traces its roots back to the 1930s. The following features distinguish the SCWDC:

The SCWDC Ski School is the only PSIA/AASI member club ski school in the country. All ski and snowboard instructors are certifieto teach by PSIA or AASI. A divisional education staff member is part of the school. Instruction is provided free on all sponsored trips.

Members of the SCWDC and Blue Ridge Ski Council (BRSC) clubs receive discounted rates on trips, although anyone is welcome on trips.

Ski or snowboard instruction is included in all trips by PSIA- or AASI-certified instructors. Instruction is offered at all ability levels, from expert down to first-timers.
