Pennsylvania’s Seven Springs Mountain Resort has pulled out the snowguns and is preparing for an early opening to the 1998/99 ski season. On Tuesday night, the resort took advantage of colder temperatures to test out its snowmaking system, laying down a thin layer of snow on some trails. The resort plans to aggressively make snow as soon as a solid stretch of cold temperatures hits the area. Seven Springs is not yet able to predict an opening date. Last year, Seven Springs opened on Friday, November 21, 1997.

Once the slopes open, skiers and boarders will find a new beginner ski area. The resort has also expanded its popular snow tubing section. Stay tuned to DCSki for the latest opening information.
