As if on cue, Mother Nature dumped 7 inches of snow on West Virginia’s Snowshoe Mountain Resort in the past 24 hours, as Snowshoe’s snowmakers continued to run the guns at the main Snowshoe and Silver Creek areas. Snowshoe plans to open Wednesday, Nov. 27, and the combined natural and artificial snow will make for a healthy opening base.
Snow fell throughout many western parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and at high elevations in West Virginia, dropping about 1 inch in most places. Looking forward, cold temperatures remain in the forecast for at least the next week, allowing many resorts to fire up the snowguns.
