What’s New for 2003: Ski Roundtop 1
Author thumbnail By M. Scott Smith, DCSki Editor

Ski Roundtop has made a number of enhancements over the summer. Visitors to the Pennsylvania resort will notice that Roundtop’s base lodge has been renovated, and a new Snow Tubing Lodge has also been built.

Snowboarders will find a new 650-foot long, 17-foot deep Super Pipe, serviced by its own J-Bar lift and kept in shape through a Super Dragon cutter.

A “Conveyor Lift” has been installed in the learn to ski/snowboard area, making the first trip up the mountain for beginners less daunting.

General snowmaking enhancements have been made to the resort, and Ski Roundtop’s staff plans to add additional features to the terrain park this winter.

Olympic Gold Medalist Diann Roffe has also set up the Roffe Training Center at Ski Roundtop, which will be the only training center presented by an Olympic Gold Medalist on the East Coast and exclusive to Ski Roundtop. (In the past, Diann offered clinics at Roundtop, Liberty and Whitetail.) Diann will teach a number of programs throughout the winter.
