Many resorts in the region are looking to hire staff for the upcoming season, in positions ranging from snowmaking to retail to ski instructors.

DCSki Columnist Otto Matheke reports that Pennsylvania’s Liberty Mountain Resort is in search of new instructors for its ski school. (Matheke is himself an instructor at Liberty.)

To that end, Liberty will be holding an instructor training course in November and December. The course will begin on November 17 with one day of indoor classes. Two days of on-snow training are tentatively scheduled for December 8 and 9, conditions permitting.

“You don’t have to be a great skier” to be an instructor, writes Matheke, “just a good skier and with a love for the sport.”

The cost of the course is $75, which will be reimbursed if the candidate is hired.
